Polyps
Colonic Polyps which is small growth of flash grow into the colon. These can eventually account for the second leading cause of cancer for men after lung caner.
While not essential for life, the colon is an organ which extracts salts and water from consumed food at the end of the digestive track.
Polyps fall into several varieties which may be precursors to bowel cancer. Neoplastic polyps are a type of growth which will eventually develop into a cancer. Many polyps show no symptoms and do not betray their presence.
A flexible sigmoidoscopy or large bowel test can often determine the presence of precancerous tumor. We know that many cancers develop from Polyps but we still do not know which polyps will develop into a cancer.
